ICDL Base Plus
Is this for me?
ICDL is the world’s leading computer skills certification. The ICDL Base Plus course covers key concepts of computing as well as provides you with all the essential computer literacy skills that will ensure that you are able to work successfully on various computer applications.
What do I need to get in?
- Grade 9 or equivalent
- Appropriate exposure to computers (preferable to have completed the ELMI Computer Skills course)
What certification do I get?
On successful completion of any of the ICDL exams, you will receive an International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) Certificate from the ICDL Foundation. Remember, this certificate is recognised both locally and internationally.

How will I be assessed?
After you have completed the first module, Computer Essentials, you will complete a Pre-Assessment. This will prepare you for the ICDL exams. These can be written after completion of exam module or at the end of the course.
